+ PRODUCTION LABOURER (Several jobs to fill)

Responsibilities: Reporting to the production supervisor, the labourers will have, depending on your assigned department, these responsibilities:

  • Mould and/or unmould the blades
  • Trimming, cutting, sanding and/or repairing blades
  • Assembling components according to specifications
  • All while ensuring that the health and safety, quality and production objectives of LM Wind Power Canada are met.

Desired skills:

  • Secondary School Diploma or Secondary V Equivalence
  • Work experience may compensate for the studies

+ QUALITY MANAGER (NEW JOB TO FILL)

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality Manager is responsible for the management of a quality assurance system and the continued improvement of the plant. He will develop the quality plan for the plant and will help ensuring that all customers continue to receive high-quality products.

Quality assurance

  • Establish an appropriate quality management and improvement system which ensures high-quality products and smooth production processes within the frames of Business Management system
  • Drive quality planning of activities in plant within the frames of Global procedures and instructions, using state-of-the-art quality management methods & tools.
  • Verify WI and process adherence through audit program.
  • Drive Plant Quality Council

Quality control

  • Ensure that blade inspection is conducted during pre-defined stages of the production process and defects are not passed between major production processes, ensuring no escapetements of non-quality from Plant
  • Manage laboratory, incoming inspection, calibration, MSA, incl. maintenance of equipment and tools
  • Ensure NDT procedures are implemented and followed
  • Educate quality control resources and production workers regarding quality requirements and control level; assist them in improving their inspection skills
  • Ensure there is sufficient capacity of suitably certified and experienced NDT, QC and FW inspectors, to meet current and future capacity requirements, considering risks of absence or staff turnover and in respect of RBM
  • Initiate and drive root cause analyses of defects, non compliance to to LM operating procedures and ensure prompt implementation of corrective/preventive actions
  • Take ownership for resolution of claims.
  • Provide input to the daily Production meeting and communicate production status and flag critical issues that need additional support.
  • Set targets and priorities in accordance with plant Quality targets

Continuous improvements

  • Facilitate the development of LM lean (LMPS) and Continuous Improvement culture in the plant from a Quality perspective, refocusing effort from Reactive to Preventive
  • Focus the plant on the Cost of Quality and drive improvements, refocusing effort from Reactive and Evaluation to Preventive
  • Participate in and lead projects on performance improvement on a regional and global level
  • Ensure internal audits and assessments are done to improve quality maturity.
  • Ensure Quality operations are conducted within budget constraints and recommend measures to reduce cost
  • Cooperate with Group & R&D regarding implementation of new blade types and modification of WI’s and processes
  • Building plants skills and capability related to Quality taking a leading role in developing skills and competences
  • Representing plant in front of customers and secure continuous development of relation.
  • Cooperating with Global Quality and SQD with focus on process and specification adherence.

Reporting

  • Ensure proper documentation as required by LM Production System (LMPS) and LM global Business management System, and ensure daily feedback of blade quality is provided to the production teams as per the LMPS visual management module
  • Provide input data for regional and global functions and follow up on monthly controlling reports as provided as required

PROFILE

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering
  • A proven track record from a broad range of management positions within plant operations
  • Certifications :IRCA approved lead auditor ISO 9001,Lean Six Sigma Green belt certification
  • Expert knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO)
  • Ability to provide mentoring and coaching to plant personnel
  • Efficient and experienced in presentation technique.

+ TECHNICIAN, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

  • Offer support and guidance to users of the IT system
  • Support Onsite Business
  • Ensure that the business do follow the IT Security Policies
  • Plan corrective and preventive maintenance of equipment/ hardware located locally (computers, networks, servers…)
  • Responsible for technical support related to the software used as well as for contacts and claims against local IT suppliers

Requirements:

  • A college diploma, a university education or a combination of another experience

+ PRODUCT LAUNCH AND SUPPORT ENGINEER

As our new engineer supporting Gaspé plant, you will become part of a dynamic team of engineers globally supporting the business. In this position you will get a unique possibility for growing and getting to know the business from inside, as you will be based within our Product Launch and Support Department of Global Manufacturing Engineering and Support Function.

The job

In the role as Product Launch and Support Engineer, you will provide support to the America Region plants as priority which is required to Global Engineering Support team. Your primary responsibility is to support all plant with Product and Process Quality related tasks that include support with manufacturing processes, repairs of defects, ramp up of new product launches. You will also manage necessary changes in our Blade repair methods through preparation of instructions & provide the local team with training programs to ensure that our plant is in compliance with current technologies. Beyond that, you will be able to support all business departments globally.

Also this position may require a flexible working schedule. What makes this job so unique is that under Global Engineering Support, you will get to interact daily with Plant functions and Global Engineering teams as well as other relevant stakeholders globally. You will also get to travel to the different sites when needed. Up to 10 weeks travel are expected per year.

You will work closely with people on different levels in the organisation, ranging from MT-members to management and staff in the different Production sites.

Your background

  • The perfect candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Composite Material;
  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in Production Engineering & Product development;
  • Wind Industry experience & Green Belt certified will be added benefits;
  • Very good IT skills in Excel, CAD applications & the ability to learn new platforms such as ERP (Minitab is preferred).
  • High level of English, written and spoken, as it is our corporate language; French language is necessary since the position is based in Gaspé, a French speaking area;

+ BUYER

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Materials and ressources Manager, the buyer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Follow the ERP production and management plans to generate the forecast for suppliers required and obtain confirmation from suppliers.
  • Release P.O. once the purchasing requests are approved according the procedure.
  • Requesting pending deliveries form suppliers and correcting P.O. accordingly.
  • Propose improvements to other departments to optimize the cost of acquisition of materials/services.
  • Update the supply matrix in AXAPTA (delivery times, minimum and maximum lots…)
  • Control and document inventory received and distributed.
  • Responsible for maintaining material management best practices (FIFO, HSE, etc.)
  • Maintain harmonious communications with production BC employees and supervisors to ensure the availability and distribution of materials to the shop floor
  • Direct the inventory counting in a timely and accurate fashion by weekly cycle counting
  • Improve continuously KPI’s using LEAN tool

Requirements:

  • University education or college diploma in business administration or relevant experience;
  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory management;
  • Planning and organizationnal skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks,to set priorities and meet deadlines;
